WhatsApp has recently introduced new features for both regular users and group admins. The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the update via his Instagram channel this week. The messaging app considers Groups to be a crucial part of their service, and the new features promise to make WhatsApp more user-friendly and convenient for admins managing WhatsApp Groups.
One of the significant updates is the expansion of the maximum number of members in a group. Previously, WhatsApp Groups allowed up to 512 members, but the app will now permit up to 1024 members in a group. This feature was initially discussed last year and is now being rolled out globally.
Users can have a large number of Groups on WhatsApp, and it can be difficult to keep track of mutual contacts in these groups. To solve this issue, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to search for mutual contacts by name to determine whether joining a group is worthwhile.
In the past few months, WhatsApp has also added several features to Groups, such as support for a larger number of members and the ability for admins to delete messages from other members. The company has confirmed that these new features will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks, including on both Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.
Additionally, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to pin messages within chats and groups, enabling them to prioritize essential messages and keep them at the top of their chat list for easy access.
